Dan & Shannon Perrett with Emily & Lucy

We welcome Dan & Shannon with their children Emily & Lucy to the CRMF family. They were accepted as Candidates in October and are starting to build their Partnership Development Team as they prepare for full-time ministry in Goroka.

"Our long held dream to serve God in Papua New Guinea was realised recently when we were accepted as a family to serve with Christian Radio Missionary Fellowship."

"We are excited to be a part of an organisation that through communication technology seeks to further the work of the Church in PNG as well as fostering community development.
Both Shannon and myself (Dan) grew up in the South Burnett, in rural South East Queensland, however we did not meet until we had both moved to Toowoomba and were studying at university. I studied Mechanical Engineering and Shannon completed a Business degree majoring in travel management. After working in our fields for a number of years, we now have our own tutoring business in Kingaroy. I love being involved in teaching and training and am looking forward to continuing this in my role with CRMF. Shannon is a stay-at-home mum to our two beautiful girls Emily (three) and Lucy (one) and will continue in this role in PNG as well as helping out in the CRMF office.

We have both sensed a call to mission since we were teenagers and this was confirmed in 2000 when we both travelled separately to PNG. I spent several months backpacking through the Highlands and stayed with several MAF families. Shannon took part in a short term mission trip with Churches of Christ to the Madang and Sepik provinces. On returning to Australia we both felt it necessary to begin laying a foundation for our long term mission aspirations and so we both undertook Bible College. Our passion to share the gospel has also lead us to become quite involved in our church, the Kingaroy Church of Christ where I regularly lead communion and occasionally preach. Shannon is a deaconess on our church leadership board and one of the co-ordinators of our local MOPS (mother of preschoolers) group.

We are looking forward to serving God through working with CRMF and are anxious to see what He has in store for us in regards to vocation and ministry. As a part of our preparations I am in the process of getting up to speed with radio communications by studying for my amateur radio operators license.

We would really value your prayers as we continue on our journey and begin to build partnerships with churches and individuals."
Dan

Dan & Shannon have now reached 85% of their support that they need to go to PNG.  If you would like to support them, please contact the office in Australia.

Please pray that they will receive the 100% support they need to join the team in Goroka early in 2008.
